“The moves being made by the BLM10 and ourselves will result in a stronger, truly grassroots, truly revolutionary movement. If anything, anyone who considers themselves on the left politically but does not want to see a stronger movement should question if they are not more right-leaning politically than they realize.”

"I’m a deeply sensitive but also insecure person who is often fearful of being vulnerable. Vulnerability is easiest for me in small spaces; the more people that there are around me the more I feel the desire to put the mask on, to perform. What I desire in intimacy is the ability to kind of strip all that off. The natural thing then is to reduce the number of people who surround me as much as possible."

"I don’t want to be resilient. When you live in a body that is under attack, you don’t want to be congratulated for resilience. You would rather somebody recognize how fucked up it is. It’s not that the work is good or that you are good or great or beautiful or whatever because of that resilience, but despite it. Because resilience is costly."

Hey everyone, I am still here and busy with being busy and overwhelmed.

@Defectivetrxgedy this is who was also watching. The two of us met daily to watch the birds at the same time. He hid behind a fence and I hid inside. We both enjoyed the birds very much. His name is Tippy.

@Defectivetrxgedy these 2 guinea fowl moved in near me while I was in between homes and staying in an Airbnb. I was really freaking out so I painted them and watched them to be ok. They helped me get through and this was my first time ever seeing them. They’re cool and I love them. We tried to engage but they yelled at me and ran. Just as good as engagement. Then I painted someone else... someone who was also enjoying bird watching.

@Defectivetrxgedy this is my fave bird I’ve ever seen. Maybe other than the next one I’m gonna post. But for different reasons. This is a glossy black cockatoo and our island is famous for them. They are wonderful 🥰

What’s the difference between moderators and admins? Can moderators not defederate? Thanks!

Remember when I said I was reclaiming the meaning of Ubuntu from white software dudes? Here’s the article I mentioned about Ubuntu. This site has a lot of reading material that I found validating and helpful. I will be following up with them to see ways we can support them financially but I do see they offer book cover design if anyone would like to support them with that. sonkodynasty.com/the-great-ubu

So, the outcome is that, instead of feeling defensive about my previous bad decisions, I took time to think about how I could meet my needs while also adjusting based on the callout. It usually takes me a few days weeks or months to think it through this way. Instead of seeing callouts as an attack, see them for what they are. Another person is spending their time to help improve your life as well as their own. Thank you so much for your wisdom @romainelaprophetesse

I went to remove that citation and the quotes. I wanted to describe Ubuntu in my own words. It’s hard for me to explain well because my default language is English. So, I set out to find a voice describing Ubuntu in English but from someone with lived experience. What I found was a lot of good reading that validated me as a person; helped me connect with why I feel what I feel and how I want to navigate the world.

The other day, @romainelaprophetesse provided us with an extremely helpful informative article about Wikipedia and the oppressive nature of that site and its use. I love when people call me out like this (indirectly or directly) and I have a chance to examine my own life for ways I support my own detriment as well as others. I use Wikipedia all the time (did). I had used them to source the definitions of Ubuntu that I used on my server and other places that mention it. (Continued in replies)
